Access to Healthy Food

Healthy food improves well-being

Food insecurity in Canada is on the rise. From urban centres to rural areas, access to healthy food is not equitable for our citizens and neighbours – estimates put the number of Canadians experiencing food insecurity at nearly 6 million, or 15 per cent of our total population. Yet experts agree, healthy food is a major social determinant of health.

We seek to fund projects that will improve access to healthy food for Canadians – from sustainable agricultural practices to increasing food sovereignty.
